To book a dune buggy in Dubai, open the activities booking form, pick a buggy, a length (30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours) and a start time from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, then pay by card in AED. The 2 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC is AED 600 per buggy for 30 minutes.

Key takeaways

  • Dune Buggy Rentals Dubai sells its eight self-drive buggies, its quad bikes, the KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC and the desert extras on one online activities form.
  • Every buggy is priced per buggy, not per person. A 2 seater carries the driver and one passenger, and a 4 seater carries the driver and three.
  • Start times run every 30 minutes from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, daily. A 30 minute ride takes about 90 minutes on site.
  • No buggy price includes pickup. The form offers a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, a private car at AED 450 per car for 5 to 6 guests, or a meeting point sent by email.
  • Payment is by Visa or Mastercard in AED, in full online, with no card processing fee. The confirmation arrives by email.
  • Cancellations go by email only. The fee depends on when the email arrives and on whether the booking holds fewer than 4 guests or 4 or more.

What does the activities booking form cover?

Dune Buggy Rentals Dubai takes dune buggy bookings on one online form, the activities form. The same form lists the eight buggies, the quad bikes, the KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC, the desert extras and the transfers, so a single booking can hold the ride, a camel ride and the trip out to the desert.

The rides run on private desert terrain outside Dubai. The form asks for a short run of choices, and every priced line carries its own unit. A buggy is priced per buggy, while the extras and the sharing transfer are priced per person, so each line is best read on its own.

The table shows the lines that most buggy bookings use.

Line on the form What it covers Price and unit
2 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC Driver and one passenger, 30 minutes AED 600 per buggy
4 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC Driver and three passengers, 30 minutes AED 800 per buggy
2 Seater Can-Am Maverick X3 Driver and one passenger, 30 minutes AED 999 per buggy
Sharing transfer Two or more guests from one pickup point AED 175 per person
Private transfer One car for 5 to 6 guests AED 450 per car
Camel Ride in Desert 20 to 25 minutes on a camel AED 150 per person
SandBoarding Added to a buggy or quad ride AED 50 per person
Standard Camp BBQ dinner and live shows, private transfer needed AED 125 per person
Premium Camp BBQ dinner and live shows, private transfer needed AED 250 per person

The steps below take the choices one at a time, from the machine to the confirmation email.

How does the booking form work, step by step?

Step 1. Choose the machine and how many

Each buggy appears on the form by name, with its seats, and asks for a quantity under No of Buggies or No of Can Am. The quantity is the number of buggies, not the number of people. One 4 seater with four people on board counts as one buggy.

Every buggy is self-drive and priced per buggy. A 2 seater carries the driver and one passenger, and a 4 seater carries the driver and three, all for the one price. Three examples, each for 30 minutes:

  • 2 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC: AED 600 per buggy.
  • 4 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC: AED 800 per buggy.
  • 2 Seater Can-Am Maverick X3: AED 999 per buggy.

The form also lists the 2 and 4 Seater Polaris RZR 1000 CC Turbo, the 4 Seater Can-Am Maverick X3 and the 2 and 4 Seater Can-Am Maverick X3 RS TURBO RR, each with its own prices per buggy.

If you have not settled on a model, decide before you open the form. The dune buggy hub explains how the Polaris RZR and the Can-Am Maverick X3 differ, and the guide to the best dune buggy in Dubai sets all eight side by side with their prices. If a turbo model appeals for a first drive, ask the team before you book it.

Booking a quad bike or the dirt bike on the same form

Quad bikes sit on the same form under No of Quad Bikes, each priced per quad bike. Three examples, each for 30 minutes:

  • Kids Quad Bike Single Seater (90 CC, fenced area only, recommended for ages 9 to 12): AED 150 per quad bike.
  • COBRA Single Seater Quad Bike (220 CC, fenced area only, recommended for ages 14 to 17): AED 200 per quad bike.
  • Kymco Single Seater Quad Bike, shown on the site as the Single Seater Quad Bike (open deep desert, one rider): AED 250 per quad bike.

The KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC is listed under No of Dirt Bikes at AED 850 per dirt bike for 1 hour, with one rider. It suits riders with some two-wheel experience. Complete beginners are pointed to a buggy or a quad instead.

Step 2. Choose the length of the ride

Every buggy comes in 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours, and each length has its own price per buggy. On the 2 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC, 30 minutes is AED 600 per buggy. One hour on the same buggy is AED 900 per buggy. Two hours is AED 1,750 per buggy.

The other buggies follow the same pattern, with each length on its own line and its own price. Quads and the dirt bike differ a little. The Single Seater Sports Quad Bike and the Quad Bike Raptor Manual 700 CC come in 1 or 2 hours only. The KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC comes in 1, 2 or 3 hours, and most first-timers find 1 hour plenty.

Whatever length you pick, plan the day around time on site, not only time on the sand. A 30 minute buggy ride takes about 90 minutes on site: check-in, signing the liability form, fitting the helmet and goggles, the briefing, the drive and the photo stop.

Step 3. Match the buggies to the people in the group

Each buggy needs a driver, and buggy drivers are adults who carry photo ID. Children ride as passengers beside an adult. The site gives no single passenger age, so tell the team the ages of any children when you book.

A few common groups, worked out on seats alone:

  • Two adults, one driving: one 2 seater, quantity one.
  • A family of four: one 4 seater, with an adult driving and the children as passengers.
  • Friends who all want to drive: one buggy for each person who wants the wheel, each with an adult driver.
  • A larger group: a mix of 2 seaters and 4 seaters, so that every buggy has an adult driver.

Group size also shapes the cancellation terms. A booking of 4 or more guests falls under the group scale, whose fees start earlier than the scale for smaller bookings. The cancellation section further down sets out both.

Step 4. Pick the date and the start time

Buggies, quads and the dirt bike start every 30 minutes from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, daily. October to April is the main season. In summer, the site points riders to the earliest morning slots.

Work backwards from the start time when you plan the rest of the day. With a transfer, pickup is 1 hour before the start. The check-in, the briefing, the drive and the photo stop then fill about 90 minutes on site for a 30 minute ride, before the trip back.

If your travel dates are fixed, there is little reason to wait. Book once the dates are settled and pick from the start times that are still open.

Step 5. Choose how you will get there

No buggy, quad or dirt bike price includes pickup. The form offers three ways to reach the ride:

  • No transfer: the meeting point is emailed after booking, and you make your own way there.
  • Sharing transfer: AED 175 per person, for two or more guests from one pickup point.
  • Private car: AED 450 per car, for 5 to 6 guests.

With either transfer, pickup is 1 hour before your start time. The transfer is a separate line from the buggy, priced in its own unit. The sharing transfer needs at least two guests from the same pickup point, so a solo rider chooses the private car or the emailed meeting point.

Step 6. Add extras on the same form

The activities form also sells desert extras, each priced on its own:

  • Camel Ride in Desert: 20 to 25 minutes, AED 150 per person.
  • SandBoarding: AED 50 per person, with a buggy or quad.
  • Standard Camp (BBQ Dinner + Live Entertainment Shows): AED 125 per person.
  • Premium Camp: AED 250 per person.

Both camps are camp only, with no safari drive, and need a private transfer at AED 450 per car for 5 to 6 guests. From October to March, camp pickup runs 2:45 to 3:30 PM and drop-off 9:00 to 9:30 PM. From April to September, pickup runs 3:45 to 4:30 PM and drop-off 9:30 to 9:45 PM. The shows are belly dance, fire show and tanoura.

If you want a buggy ride and a camp evening on the same date, ask the team how the two fit together before you pay.

Step 7. Tell the team about health conditions

Dune driving is physical. Riders with back or neck conditions, recent surgery or a pregnancy should not drive a buggy. Only a doctor can judge whether a ride suits a particular person, so anyone with a condition should check with a doctor first.

Declare any condition to the team when you book, by email to [email protected] or through the contact page. The same goes for the ages of children and anything else the guides should know before the briefing.

Step 8. Pay by card in AED

Payment is by Visa or Mastercard in AED, in full when booking online, with no card processing fee. Before you pay, check each line once more:

  • the buggy name and its seats;
  • the quantity, which counts buggies, not people;
  • the length: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours;
  • the date and the start time;
  • the transfer choice, or no transfer;
  • any extras, each with its own unit.

Step 9. Keep the confirmation email

The booking confirmation arrives by email. If you booked no transfer, the meeting point is emailed too. Keep that email handy on the day. Any later change or cancellation is also handled by email, so it helps to keep the booking details in one place.

How does a booking look for a family of four?

A worked example shows how the lines stay separate. Two parents and two children want one vehicle and an hour on the sand, starting early on a summer morning.

  • Machine: the 4 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC, quantity one, with a parent driving.
  • Length: 1 hour, at AED 1,200 per buggy.
  • Start time: one of the earliest morning slots, which the site suggests in summer.
  • Transfer: a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, or a private car at AED 450 per car. With either, pickup comes 1 hour before the start.
  • Extras: SandBoarding at AED 50 per person, if anyone in the group wants a turn on a board.
  • Health and ages: the children's ages, and any condition in the group, go to the team when booking.

Each figure stays in its own unit on the form. Because the booking holds four guests, the cancellation scale for 4 or more applies, so a later change of plan is best handled by asking for a new date.

What happens on the day of the ride?

Bring closed-toe shoes for every rider, because sandals and flip-flops are not allowed, and photo ID for each driver. Everything else for the ride is included: a helmet and goggles for each rider, fuel, the safety briefing, a guide and unlimited mineral water. Quad riders also get gloves, and each buggy has a roll cage and harnesses.

Every buggy ride starts with a safety briefing on the controls, the hand signals and the convoy order. With the walkaround of the machine, it usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. The buggies are automatic, so there is no clutch and no gears to change.

On the sand, a guide rides ahead of the buggies for the whole ride and sets the pace for the least experienced driver, so nobody is sent off alone. The convoy stops on a ridgeline for photos.

The dune buggy rental guide covers clothing, the gear and safety in more detail.

How do you change the date or cancel a dune buggy booking?

Moving a booking to another date costs nothing, subject to availability. If plans change, ask about a new date first, since a move carries no fee while a cancellation may.

Cancelling is by email only, and the time the email arrives sets the fee. The cancellation policy uses two scales, one for bookings of fewer than 4 guests and one for 4 or more, and a 5% processing fee comes off refunds.

Booking size When the cancellation email arrives Fee
Fewer than 4 guests 96 hours or more before departure No cancellation fee, refunded less the 5% processing fee
Fewer than 4 guests At least 48 hours before departure 50% fee
Fewer than 4 guests Under 24 hours before departure 100% fee
4 or more guests 7 days before departure 50% fee
4 or more guests 5 days or less before departure 100% fee

Refunds go to the original card within 7 to 10 business days. No refund applies once a ride has started. If the team cancels for weather, guests get a refund less 5% or a new date.

Which form do you need for other desert trips?

The activities form handles buggies, quads, the dirt bike and their extras. Four other forms cover the rest of the desert trips:

  • Desert safari: the safari booking form sells the shared and private Land Cruiser safaris, with pickup included. On a safari you are driven rather than driving. The Morning Desert Safari With Land Cruiser 4X4 is AED 225 per adult, and the Classic Evening Desert Safari With BBQ Dinner is AED 240 per adult (12+).
  • Buggy with dinner: the Dune Buggy & BBQ Dinner Packages form pairs a 2 or 4 seater Polaris RZR 1000 CC or Can-Am Maverick X3 with the Bedouin BBQ dinner and live shows. The 2 Seater Polaris RZR 1000 CC package is AED 2,200 per package for 2 people. Ask the team about the ride and the transport before you book.
  • Camel ride: the camel ride has its own form at AED 150 per person, with rides daily from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Hot air balloon: the balloon form sells the Standard, Deluxe and Premium Flight. The Standard Flight is AED 1,049 per adult (12 to 80).

Book your dune buggy

Booking a dune buggy in Dubai online comes down to a handful of choices on one form: the buggy and how many, the length, the date and start time, the transfer and any extras, then card payment in AED and a confirmation by email. Keep the units in mind as you go, since buggies are priced per buggy, extras per person and the private transfer per car.

When you are ready, open the activities booking form and choose your buggy. For a question before you pay, call +971 52 440 9525 or email [email protected].

FAQ

Questions to ask before you rent a buggy

Can I book a dune buggy in Dubai online?
Yes. Dune Buggy Rentals Dubai sells every buggy on its online activities form. You pick the model, the number of buggies, a length of 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours, a start time and any transfer or extras. Payment is taken in full by Visa or Mastercard in AED with no card processing fee, and an email confirms the booking.
Is a dune buggy booking priced per person or per buggy?
Per buggy. The quantity on the form counts machines, not people. A 2 seater holds the driver and one passenger and a 4 seater holds the driver and three, for one price per buggy. For example, the 4 Seater Polaris Dune Buggy RZR 1000 CC costs AED 800 per buggy for 30 minutes. Transfers and extras are priced separately in their own units.
Is hotel pickup included when I book a buggy?
Pickup is not part of any buggy, quad or dirt bike price. On the booking form you can add a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, which needs two or more guests from one pickup point, or a private car at AED 450 per car for 5 to 6 guests. Either one collects you an hour before the start. Without a transfer, the meeting point is sent by email.
What start times can I book for a buggy ride?
Buggies, quads and the dirt bike can start at any half hour from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, every day. The main season is October to April, and in summer the site steers riders towards the earliest morning slots. Allow about 90 minutes on site for a 30 minute buggy ride, and remember that a booked transfer collects you an hour before the start.
How much does it cost to cancel a dune buggy booking?
It depends on group size and timing, and requests go by email only. With fewer than 4 guests: 96 hours or more ahead carries no cancellation fee, refunded less the 5% processing fee; at least 48 hours ahead, a 50% fee; under 24 hours, a 100% fee. With 4 or more guests: 7 days ahead, a 50% fee; 5 days or less, a 100% fee.
Can I change the date of my buggy ride?
Yes. A move to another date carries no charge, subject to availability, so it is worth asking about before cancelling. If the team calls off a ride because of the weather, guests choose between a refund less the 5% processing fee and a new date. Refunds go back to the original card within 7 to 10 business days.
What should I bring to a booked buggy ride?
Bring closed-toe shoes for everyone riding, since sandals and flip-flops are not allowed, and photo ID for each buggy driver. A helmet and goggles for each rider, fuel, the safety briefing, a guide and unlimited mineral water come with every buggy ride, and quad riders also receive gloves. The briefing and walkaround usually take 10 to 15 minutes.
Can children come on a dune buggy booking?
Children can ride as passengers beside an adult, because buggy drivers are adults carrying photo ID. The site gives no fixed passenger age, so share the children's ages with the team when booking. For young riders on their own machine, the Kids Quad Bike Single Seater is recommended for ages 9 to 12 in the fenced area, at AED 150 per quad bike for 30 minutes.
