Pickup from your hotel, a highway run east, a stop at the desert edge to let air out of the tyres, then a dune bashing session where the driver takes the 4x4 up, along and down the slip faces. After that come the slower parts: a short camel ride, photo stops on the ridges and, on morning trips, sandboarding. Morning guests head back to the city by lunchtime; evening guests carry on to a camp for dinner and stage shows.

One honest note before you book. Dune bashing is genuinely bumpy — most guests grin through the whole thing, but if motion sickness finds you easily, eat light beforehand and ask the driver for a gentler line. There always is one. How Much Does a Desert Safari Cost in Dubai?

A desert safari with us costs AED 225 to AED 375 per person, depending on the time of day and what comes bundled in. The Morning Desert Safari is AED 225, the two evening packages are AED 240 and AED 375, and a private car for up to six passengers is AED 1,400. Every one of those fares includes hotel pickup and drop-off across Dubai and Sharjah.

Here is what each price buys. The morning trip at AED 225 covers pickup between 7:30 and 8 AM, dune bashing at Al Awir, sandboarding and a camel ride, with return to your hotel by around 12:30 PM. The Evening Desert Safari + Bedouin BBQ Dinner Experience at AED 240 trades the midday return for a desert camp: sunset on the dunes, an international BBQ buffet, and live entertainment before a drop-off at around 9:30 PM.

The AED 375 package is our best seller. It runs the identical evening programme and adds a 30-minute quad bike session, so you drive a machine yourself instead of only riding in the 4x4. For groups, the private car at AED 1,400 gives up to six passengers their own vehicle and driver for the night; the last section of this guide covers when that maths makes sense.

Two details keep the sums honest. All safari prices are per person except the private car, which is per vehicle whether two or six people climb in. And the camp inclusions listed in your package — buffet, shows, camel ride, henna — are part of the fare, not add-ons sold to you once you are out in the desert.

What Is Included in the Evening Safari with BBQ Dinner?

The Evening Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner + 30 Min ATV Quad Bike costs AED 375 per person and is the package most of our guests book. It includes hotel pickup and drop-off, dune bashing at Al Awir, a 30-minute quad bike ride, and the full camp evening: camel ride, henna, sunset viewing, international BBQ buffet, belly dance, fire show and Tanura performance. The same evening without the quad session is AED 240.

The afternoon starts at your hotel lobby. Our driver collects you, and 35 to 45 minutes later you are at the desert edge while the tyres come down for the sand. Dune bashing runs first, while the light is still gold and the ridges throw long shadows. Keep your phone zipped away for this part; anything loose in the cabin goes flying.

Then the quad session. You get your own quad bike for 30 minutes on the sand, with our team keeping watch over the group, and no driving licence is needed because the riding happens on private desert away from public roads. Thirty minutes is longer than it sounds on a quad — enough time to find your confidence and then use it. Closed shoes are the right call here, so leave the sandals at the hotel.

You reach the camp with daylight to spare, and the hour around sunset is the one guests photograph most: camel loops, the henna table, the walk up the nearest ridge as the sand turns deep orange. Dinner is an international BBQ buffet with separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections. After dark the shows run one after another: a belly dance set, the spinning Tanura dance, and a fire show to close the night. Drop-off back at your hotel lands around 9:30 PM.

A few practical notes. Eat light before pickup, because dune bashing comes a couple of hours before dinner does. Bring a light jacket between November and February, since desert temperatures fall fast once the sun goes. Morning or Evening Safari: Which One Should I Pick?

It suits families whose young children fade after dark, cruise passengers working around a ship's timetable, and anyone whose Dubai evenings are already committed. What you give up is the camp: no buffet, no shows.

The evening wins on completeness. Sunset over the dunes, dinner under open sky and three stage shows make it the version most first-time visitors picture when they say the words "desert safari", and it fills the whole evening on one fare. Children who can stay awake until 9:30 usually vote evening too. If this is your only visit to Dubai and the schedule allows it, take the evening.

Season shifts the calculation. From October to April, the region's best months, both slots are comfortable and the choice is purely about your diary. From June to August the early start makes the morning the kinder window for the active parts; sandboarding at 9 AM in July beats climbing dunes in the 5 PM heat, though evenings do soften quickly once the sun is down.

The rhythm of the camp is unhurried by design. You arrive with daylight left, and the first stretch belongs to the slow activities: a handler-led camel loop, henna for anyone who wants it, the climb up the nearest ridge for sunset. Nothing is timed to the minute and nobody herds you between stations; the camp works as a base you drift out from and wander back to. That sunset climb is worth prioritising, because it produces the photograph everyone takes home.

Dinner is a buffet rather than plated service: grilled mains alongside vegetarian dishes, salads, bread and dessert, with the veg and non-veg lines kept separate. Is Hotel Pickup Included, and How Does the Day Run?

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in every desert safari package at no extra charge. Morning pickups run between 7:30 and 8 AM; evening pickups are scheduled through the afternoon so you reach Al Awir before sunset, and drop-off lands back at your hotel around 9:30 PM. Your exact time is confirmed in writing when you book.

The transfer itself is short by tour standards. From Downtown, Business Bay or DIFC, the desert is 35 to 45 minutes away; Deira and Festival City sit a little closer, Marina and JBR a little further. We collect from hotels, apartments and residences across Dubai, so give us the building name when you book and the routing becomes our problem, not yours.
